A review on relationship between serum Vitamin D levels and depression severity in young adults

Depression is one of the most often occurring mental health problems that affect young people and can be detrimental to their lives, studies, and social. The main causes behind the occurrence are often a mix of biological, psychological, and environmental factors. Recently, scientists have started to investigate whether vitamin D, which mainly comes from sunlight and a few food sources, could be related to depression. Vitamin D plays a role in numerous brain functions, including brain maturation, nerve activities, and mood stabilization via neurotransmitters like serotonin.The aim of the study is to determine if young adults with varying degrees of depression also have varying blood levels of vitamin D. The study intends to gather and scrutinize data from earlier studies so as to determine whether low vitamin D causes being depressed worse or more like a case. A lot of studies found that people with less vitamin D tend to have bad depression. This might be because vitamin D helps calm down swelling and keeps your brain healthy.So, most signs point to low vitamin D being tied to worse depression. This study tries to show why keeping vitamin D levels up is good for mental health and pushes for more research to prove how vitamin D affects mood depression in young adults.
